Humidity is important for the health of your plant. Having too little or too much moisture can cause stress to your plant, leading to dehydration and fungal diseases.
To boost humidity, mist your plant with a watering can filled with filtered or distilled water several times a day. Or try placing a pebble tray filled with water in front of your plant to increase moisture around its roots.
Misting
Misting is a popular way to boost humidity levels in your home. It’s a great way to keep your plants healthy and vibrant, and it’s often used in public spaces to help cool people off during hot summer days. However, it can also be an issue for your houseplants if you’re not careful!
Plants are designed to release water from the leaves through a process called transpiration. Most tropical plants, for example, hold around 95 percent of their water in the leaf cells and stomata (the openings on the underside of the leaf that allow water to pass through the cellular membranes).
But not all plants do well with this technique, so it’s important to know when and how your plant might need a spritz. If you notice your plants’ leaves turning crispy, that could be a sign they need a good misting!
Another way to get your plants some extra humidity is by grouping them together, says plant guru Kimberly Harris. “The more plants you have in a room, the more they will release their moisture through transpiration,” she says. She suggests placing your potted plants on a tray, then adding a little water to it.
She also recommends grouping a few different types of plants. This way, they will all receive the same amount of hydration and they’ll help each other.
There are many online sources that recommend misting plants, but it’s important to be very careful about how often and what you use it for! If you mist your plants too much, the moisture can promote fungi and bacteria growth on their foliage.
Similarly, overwatering can cause your plants to become stale and dry out. This can also attract fungi, mold and other pests that can be damaging to your plants.
Misting your plants only a few times a week is fine, but if you’re using it to increase the humidity in their environment, you should try to do so more frequently! Pebble Trays

However, if you have a large number of indoor plants that need a lot of additional moisture in the air, a pebble tray isn’t going to be enough to make much of a difference. That’s where a humidifier would come in handy, as it would be able to adjust the entire room’s humidity rather than just a single section.
Grouping a number of different plants together on pebble trays is also an option for boosting the amount of humidity in your home. This is a good idea for plants that thrive in high humidity environments such as orchids, philodendrons, and acacias.
Another benefit of a pebble tray is that they can help protect your plants from water damage and root rot. This is because they are a physical barrier that keeps the roots from sitting directly in the water.

Ventilation

This is the type of ventilation that you’ll want to consider when setting up a grow area for your plants. It’s not as fast or effective as a mechanical system but it can be very consistent, efficient and economical.
For instance, you’ll be able to set the unit up at the same time each day so that your plant’s roots are getting a good dose of oxygen. It’s a great way to boost your plants’ health, and you can easily change the settings to match the needs of each individual plant.
Alternatively, you can install a humidifier in your grow area to add a little extra moisture to the air. You’ll be able to control the level of water, which can make it ideal for some plants that need more moisture than others, such as ferns or certain orchids.
Aside from adding a humidifier to your grow area, another option is to group several plants together and let them increase their own humidity level by themselves. You can also place your plants on pebble trays filled with water, which will allow them to naturally absorb more moisture as they move around the tray.
