Nvidia’s RTX3080 Ti mobile reportedly has 16 Gbps GDDR6 RAM, which is a significant upgrade to the 14 Gbps memory that was used with the Nvidia RTX3080 mobile GPU. The Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti mobile is also said to have a maximum TGP value of 175W.
Nvidia’s RTX3080 Ti mobile has reportedly more CUDA cores than their RTX3080 mobile.
Nvidia will reveal the RTX3080 Ti mobile GPU at CES 2022. This will allow laptop manufacturers to unveil and release new gaming/workstation notebooks with more powerful graphics than their predecessors.
Nvidia’s RTX 3080 has less memory than its desktop counterpart (8 GB VS 10 GB), and has less performance memory (GDDR6 VS GDDR6X). This is combined with Nvidia’s RTX3080 mobile’s CUDA core counts and lowered power limit and the RTX3080 mobile can be considered significantly less performant than its desktop counterpart. This is to be expected with virtually all mobile graphics products.
The RTX 3080 Ti mobile is supposed to have more CUDA cores than the RTX3080 mobile, which would be a major performance upgrade for laptops. However, this is not guaranteed to happen. According to Techpowerup, the RTX3080 Ti mobile GPU is “almost” twice as powerful as the RTX3080 mobile. This means that it will likely be significantly more powerful than the RTX3080 mobile GPU, but could be less powerful than the desktop RTX 3080.
Nvidia RTX3080 mobile is supposed to have 4352 CUDA cores, while the RTX3080 Ti mobile is said to have 5184 CUDA cores. The desktop RTX 3080 has 3584 CUDA cores. The RTX3080 mobile has 1GB GDDR6X memory (while the desktop RTX 3080 has 2GB GDDR6X), and a TDP of 250W (desktop RTX 3080 has 300W).
The RTX3080 Ti mobile is also expected to have 8 GB GDDR6X memory. In terms of the RTX3080 Ti mobile, we don’t know much yet. The RTX3080 Ti mobile is not even listed on Nvidia’s website yet. But it could be significantly more powerful than the RTX3080 mobile, with more CUDA cores. We can only hope that it will also have 8GB of GDDR6X memory. Nvidia’s RTX 3080 mobile GPU is also said to have 4352 CUDA cores.
The RTX 3080 desktop GPU is expected to have 3584 CUDA cores. Techpowerup also said that the RTX 3080 Ti desktop GPU will have a TDP of 500W. The desktop RTX 3080 has a TDP of 300W.
